When you enrol, please use your full legal birth name so that we can ensure your name is accurately recorded for the certificate.
At the University of Wolverhampton, we offer our applicants additional pathways to meet our course entry requirements.
Several of our courses require applicants to hold a GCSE English qualification. If you do not currently hold a GCSE English qualification, we have an online equivalency course that you will be able to take.
Our English online equivalency course is:
- Free to all applicants.
- For students who have applied during the current admissions cycle
- Self-paced and allow you to demonstrate that you have competence which the University of Wolverhampton approve is equivalent to GCSE Grade 4-5

Please note: in order to provide an efficient testing service, we actively remove students who do not hold an offer in our current admissions cycle.
Multi-Factor Authentication - IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ
As part of the registration process, you will be asked to set up multi-factor authentication to access the course. This will come after you have set up a password and registered for the course. This process works best if you have two devices, as you will be presented with a QR code to scan. If you are only using one device (such as a mobile phone), you will not be able to scan the QR code. In this case, select and copy the 'Secret key' that appears beneath the QR code.
The following instructions work for the Microsoft Authenticator, and should be similar for other authentication apps:
- Open the authenticator app
- Select the '+' at the top of the screen to add a new account
- Select 'Other account (Google, Facebook, etc.)'
- Select 'Enter code manually'
- Choose an account name (e.g., Gmail_Canvas)
- Enter the secret key details
- Select 'Finish'
- Copy the code from the Authenticator app and add paste this into the 'Verification code:' box above
- Select 'Verify'
